A coworker stumbled across these photos (he's an outdoor enthusiast) and was asking about the techniques used. It looks like a very nice combination of proper HDR, good color balance, and some basic sharpness/contrast/saturation.
Lake Powell photos (it may resize your browser window, sorry!)
I'm not much of an outdoor/landscape photographer, but this makes me want to give it a try.
What do you think? As good as DrAchoo or Bear_Music? =D
Note: these are not my pictures, nor do I even know who took them. |

Aw dang, after I looked I saw the last line that said you didn't take them. I think they are impressive shots. This is HDR as it is meant to be used. I only saw one shot that looks a bit overdone on that front.

Nice stuff. Did you look a the Colorado Plateau collection. Having been to some of those spots recently he sure did a better job with them than I. Be nice to see a tutorial of his workflow. Thanks for sharing. |

Thanks, JB for drawing my attention to that collection. Quite ashamedly, I'm from Colorado and have no such shots... Well, this set is as close as I've come:

I know, I'd be pretty dang proud if I did. However, given my new toy, maybe I'll be more inclined to get out there and shoot this kind of shot! Of course, I'll need one of these, right? Or skip it, and go straight for this. =D
Sigh, so many toys in the world... =P |

Some of them look like HDR, but alot looks like regular shots...albeit...very well done shots.
The Colorado Plateau ones looks like he was mixing some IR with his color shots. very cool

Those pictures make me want to go back to Lake Powell sooo badly...
Nothing better than sitting in a boat, drinking, eating, swimming and beholding the amazing views. |
