Does anybody know of a good "undelete" program for mac OS X? I accidently deleted photo's of from my daughter's homecoming dance preparations. I relalized about 30 minutes after it happened and have written a lot of files since then. I ordered Norton Utilities and then was informed that it hasn't been updated to work with OS X 1.3, so I'll have to wait until I receive a bootable CD in the mail (no commited date). I could use another alternative.

Did you go into the trash and try to put them on the desktop? If you haven't empty the trash yet just pull them out and put them on your desktop then you can move them to the appriopriate place.
Where they saved on the iphoto program? If they are they might not go into the trash they get automatically deleted, try go into your mac os x system icon and search through your temp files. Or try search/find with entry: jpeg or what format you use.

Part of the problem is that these were not in iPhoto. I thought there were, so I deleted a temporary directory with that containted the file. A little later I realized I had never imported into iPhoto. I did empty the trash, so it will take an undelete program to dig them up.

You can try this It is an immediate one. you download and then "order" through the web after if runs and you select the files to undelete. Can try it and see how much.
With Norton, you can just boot up in OS 9.0 to run it.
The thing with the deleting...if you start saving a bunchof new stuff on the haard drive, you could be overwriting onto space that the files you want to recover was on.
Norton, by the way is a good product.
