it looks to me like a picture of a wall? or is it cropped to show something in specific?
I see lines at an angle going through the image, try taking a picture of say the sky,or something solid white (desktop) as far as touching it somewhere the lines dont look like curvy lines of a fingerprint |

f/22 at 150 seconds? That is what the exif is telling me. Not sure what you were shooting. Perhaps the sensor overheated. Shot in RAW? or small JPEG?

About average for DPC. I'd give it a 5. |

are you saying that mark shows up on every picture? Do you have a smudge on the sensor or the lens? Does it go away with a different lens? |

strange indeed
i have to say a beautiful colors! not sure as to what those lines are, is this in any of your previous photos? ie when you first got the camera? |

do you have multiple exposures turned on? |

I can remember reading something about this with 5d's. I have a 5d. I think the issue related to repeated long exposures which causes the sensor to heat up a little and to create a noisy posterized effect only visible when pixel peeping. I did some long night exposures in the summer last year and did notice on a few especially with brighter blue moonlit skies this effect. I can get rid of it by running Noise Ninja on selected channels - say the blue channel. Long exposures test equipment...

If you are talking about the subtle diagonal lines in the image, I believe the secret lies with the transmission tower in the image. You were evidently in an area where the electrical fields affected the camera electronics. It's called "RFI", short for Radio Frequency Interference. |

HARP weather modification from the US (Alaska based). Or, it could be the WOODPECKER weather modification from Russia. Or, both. Sadly, I'm not making this up, nor am I amused by the observation. What major global events are approaching which would induce weather modification attempts? Chinese Olympics? Straits of Hormuz military prelude? Yes! |

Yeh, CAN'T be the transmission tower *in the photo*, MUST be secret military weather modification transmissions. |

Well, it's a matter of frequency and transmission power, which cannot be explained by the tower in the scene. I'm suggesting there is a cloud grid, not interference in the camera sensor. (Sure, I'm trying to do this somewhat tongue in cheek. However, the military might have some asymmetrical weapons.... Tesla technology type stuff. It's not impossible.) |

Cell phone transmission or radar can cause odd interference with digital cameras as well, and is more commonly available. You can hear it in speakers on electronic equipment and it shows up sometimes as lines in digital images. Bluetooth communications may also be the culprit.
Try holding your cell phone right behind your camera while it is transmitting and shoot a photo to see if the interference is greater.
I did notice that the ice in the Arctic Ocean is melting, maybe that is cell phones too. Too much hot air in the airwaves.

It's pretty well known that the 5D is a little sensitive to RFI. I'm curious as to why you believe that the tower in the scene cannot explain RFI in close proximity to it? |

It can. You're right. Forget the attempt at a lighthearted explanation. Geez! |

Actually the tower is in use for phone networks, Tv Stations and radios for London area as this place is quite high makes like a valley so that could be the reason i will try shooting later on somewhere else, i have to say i nearly had a hart attack |

kirbic u were right it must have bneen that tower i just did it somewhere else and no evidence of line anymore! just wondering how bad that radio frq can be to humans around there...
Many thanks!!
