Anyone noticed that the EXIF on the Canon 300D/Digital Rebel lists the camera as a Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL instead of a 300D. A friend purchased one this weekend from a local retailer and when I looked through his EXIF that's what I found.

Probably because it has three different names depending on what country you buy it in. Digital Rebel (US name), 300d (rest of the world), and Kiss Digital (Japan).

010f Make Canon
0110 Model Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL
Mine with exif viewer and ifranview.
Maybe it depends on the exif reader your using or as was stated, where you bought it.

Mine says the same in PS 7. I think it might have to do with where the camera was produced. In Canada it is called DIGITAL REBEL, in the US, the 300D. I know that my waranty card says that it is valid in Canada AND the US. Maybe, if demand is too high in the US, some Canadian models make it down for sale in the States?
