Man, I just submitted from home and it looked good to me. Come in to work and look at it and it looks stopped down 3x. The funny thing is the everyday normal work at both home and work all looks normal. hum!

I have such a problem with the vast differences of the way photos look across several (many) display's. I know what the super tech might say, 'get a gamma scale and hold it up to the monitor'. But if you don't actually have one, what do you all do about this?

yep your are right! (BTW just sent you an em). My work display I can see a good difference in all but the bottom two, perhaps really the bottom three darkest. I am pretty sure my home display is fine, but I will have to check it again when I get home.

But how much do you think this affects voting with such a span of display's out there?

Does everyone check the gamma and color?

I normally just get it looking right on my monitor, which I know is calibrated properly. However, I know that I'm taking a rish whenever I submit a dark photo (as many of mine are) because there are a lot of people with dark uncalibrated monitors. The monitor I'm using at the moment is very very dark but it's on 100% brightness and my sacred places photo is missing the most important aspect of the photo because it was too dark. Basically, I just hope that not too many people use dark monitors.
