| To all the people who are starting Firefox in safe mode and not having access to any addons: there's a better way. I believe we've narrowed it down to PicLens being the problem. Just go to - Tools -> Addons and disable PicLens. No reason to not have AdBlock, NoScript and any others you use on a regular basis. |

I looked and could not find a way to disable the zoom of the images. If you're voting on images and don't realize you're zoomed you might end up with a crappy version of the image. I'm gonna keep looking, certainly there is a way to disable the image zoom. I use font zoom a lot. When I'm tired my astigmatism acts up and I have to boost the fonts a notch or two. I'm also careful never to vote on images when my eyes are tired. I vote mostly in the morning. |
Firefox 2.0 resizes graphic images automatically.
For those who don't want Firefox to resize images automatically, just follow these simple steps.
1. Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.
2. The Firefox configuration window will appear. Look for the preference name browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing and double-click it to change its value to false.
I tried this in FF3 and it works. |

True, I got all my regular addons back and no problemo. Piclens is the culprit. |

So I get Firefox 3 and I DID get the piclens plug - and voila - things started crashing again. Sooo, I took Jac's advice and started Firefox in safemode. There's an option to disable ALL plugs - but not any specific ones. So I checked the box and restarted Firefox.
Now I have no Yahoo toolbar. I rely heavily on my Yahoo toolbar. I have downloaded it several times and it just won't appear. I have reinstalled Firefox, but no dice.
Help? |

We're talking about two different things. Image resize is not a problem as the default max size of DPC images is smaller than my monitor rez.
FireFox 2.0 DOES NOT resize images when you adjust the fonts via the CRTL+ Scroll wheel. But I suspect it can be disabled in much the same as you showed for the resize. When I find the solution I'll post it. |

I'm having no problem with Piclens and Firefox 3.0.
It could be one of the GreaseMonkey addons causing the problem. Not all are compatible with Firefox 3.0. |

Found my solution to the image zoom when zooming text problem with FireFox 3.0. In the "View" menu there is a "Zoom" selection. Under that selection is the selection "Zoom text only". That fixed the problem with image zooming while zooming text with scrollwheel+CTRL. The scroll wheel is also implemented backwards with this option on FireFox 3.0. If you don't want the wheel backwards when using scrollwheel+CTRL you have to enter about:config in the URL bar. Answer the "be careful question" and search for:
mousewheel.withnokey.numblines. Set this to -1 (negative one) and you're back to what you were used to in FireFox 2.0. |

| I find my whole browsing experience is slow now, compared to FF2. I disabled all addons to see if any are causing this slowdown. If this keeps up i'll have to revert back to FF2, if I can. |
