A couple of the major networks are offering their shows with "limited commercials" for free on the internet. I think they might be getting the fact that people want on demand TV instead of scheduled TV.
Check out this episode of the Simpsons I embedded in my blog. This is going to be big.

rotflmao... The networks getting it... That's funny!! Next you are going to say the cable company has "service". My cable box died a few days ago and I basically had to threaten them with the (unfortunately only) competitor to get them to come out and replace the box before the w/e.

LOL.... I work for the local cable company. We have our trouble call percentage down so low the last year, that we offer SAME DAY service!!! Someone is usually on site within half-hour or less. We also do this due to the fact we offer telephone via the cable/fiber system, with 911 service, and Federal laws require us to have service outtages repaired or rerouted to working within 2 hours, or we can face severe penalties/fines...not to mention lawsuits if something happens to someone and they can't reach help due to service being out.
The only competition we have in our market is DirectTV or Dish Network...and really they are not much to contend with since we offer so many services. Cable tv, digital service, dual tuner dvr (working on a quad tuner now), alarm systems/monitoring, personal alarms/bracelets/pendants for elderly/sick, telephone service...and all on one convenient bill.

abc has been doing this for their evening programming for 2 seasons now. The first season it was limited in shows to pick from. This past season they had most of them up. I never once turned on the TV to watch 'my show' last winter (partly due to the writers strike) but I saw every episode they did put out. Only thing left for TV to do is for the "Weather Channel" to go back to weather. (it's kinda like Mtv playing videos these days..... right!) ah, bah, noaa.org is better anyway! |

I never thought about the issues with playing it around the world. Weird that they can't just make something work everywhere. I guess there are different revenue streams that need to be addressed. Meanwhile youtube is taking over. |

They're probably viewable to those outside the borders if a US-based proxy is used. |
