I bought Creative Suite 2 a couple years ago. Are the features in PS3 worth upgrading from 2? Also, if I have the student edition will it just let me upgrade to the normal on and will it just let me upgrade photoshop if I had the whole Creative Suite? Don't want to pay to upgrade all the programs if I'm just using photoshop.

Talked to an Adobe rep and found out that I can't just upgrade one program within the whole Creative Suite 2, that I'd have to do the whole thing. But I can upgrade my education version to a retail version.

Now are the new features within Photoshop CS3 worth the $399 upgrade for the whole suite upgrade package?

There are some interesting features in CS3, but nothing that's worth spending $399 on to upgrade CS2, unless you're a professional who uses it everyday (and can write off some of the cost).

I'll probably wait until CS4 see what's all different and then upgrade then.

There's a new Raw reader with CS3 that is top notch if you are doing your own printing. Unfortunately, it doesn't run on CS2.

I'm interested in doing the upgrade from the CS2 educational to CS3 commercial. Do you have any more info on that?

Ya, I talked with an Adobe rep about upgraded from the education to commercial. All you need to do is just buy the upgrade and then you will have a commercial version. The RAW stuff is the only things that I'd like with CS3. CS2 isn't compatible with the D300, so I had to download a DNG converter to be able to use the RAW things in CS2.
