		| The lens is one-year old accdg. to the seller. He said that he's only selling because is now redundant to his 24-70mm for his D3. Should I go for it? |

		| Only if you can test it first. That is quite the deal. |

He wanted to meet today in about 1.5 hours from now and I don't have my camera with me. He said that he had about 25 inquiries but no serious ones/ no follow throughs. I watched his post and how his price went from $1000 to $900 to $800 and then I offered $750 and he took it. Maybe I can just call him and ask him to bring his camera so that I can test. Thanks for the feedback! :) |

I'm usually surprised at the variation in price I see for the 17-55. I agree $750 is pretty reasonable, if not lower than usual, for a one-year-old sample. I'm sure you've already done your homework, but just to mention -- as it seems to be a "sleeper" deal -- Adorama carries this lens (new, USA version) for right at $1,000. That's where I got mine. Freakin' workhorse of a concert/theatre lens.

great lens & i had to dump mine for the same reason (though i'm still waiting my 24-70)
got $900 for it 2yrs old !! (paid 1700 though there were bigger exchange issues 2 yrs ago.)
 so i think 750 is a steal .. |

$900 is a fair price. I've seen good deals in the $800-$850 range. For $750, it's a bargain as long as the lens checks out.

I love this lens.. I paid $1100 US new but got the 3 year plan...Very solid lens and if the shot is there, you'll get it.

		Thank you so much all!
I bought the lens and it is great.. I only managed to test it using our cat! Hoping to shoot more and then get back to joining challenges here. |
