July 4th is right around the corner.

For Americans, this is a significant day in the history of the USA.

For non Americans, you could give a sh..!

But, for the world, the whole wide world, for every person that has ever fought for your right to exist, weather to continue to have the right to be a human, or for the right for you to be inhumane, what ever the case may be, here is my challenge suggestion.....

...using the advanced rule set, show your appreciation to those people, military or non military, that have passed on, that have fought for your freedom and personal right to exist.

Wouldn't your description be more appropriate for Memorial Day or Veteran's Day?

I see July Fourth more as a chance to honor the (gasp!) politicians who had the foresight to envision a new kind of government, which had a different relationship to its citizens than had ever been known, and who had the courage and PR savvy to convince their fellow citizens to arise in an armed insurrection against the reigning world superpower.

You haven't grasped the concept of the idea.

I could of said that July 4th was a day of mourning for my people, the original inhabitants that once owned the land the USA occupies.

How ever you want to interpret freedom, this is a challenge description for those people that gave their lives, in any country, in any form, military or not for the rest to do what they do either humanely or inhumanely, civilized or uncivilized, democrat or dictator, republican or communist, blue collar or white collar.

Those distinct members that have given the ultimate sacrifice, that have fallen, to let the world run its course.

It doesn't matter if it is the Roman Legionare, or Jim Thorpe. It doesn't matter if it is Martin Luther King Jr. or the Soviet Army. It doesn't matter what the context is...what matters is your point of view of how you retained your dignity and source of freedom.

Hmmmm ... OK. I'm just not quite clear why it should/need be be associated with that US-specific holiday if it's intended to be international and non-sectarian in scope.

OK, good point.

Just a holiday that is coming our way, and a news story I saw.

No real relation, just a thought.
