Awesome. Where ya from?

NWA here.

Im looking for some good places to shoot.

I have only been here for a few years...and most of that time was spent going to Arkansas Tech...and not much else. :)

Any ideas?

well I am in Little Rock. I hear petit jean is a nice place to shoot, I go locally to Pinnacle Mt state park

with you being in NWA, you have tons to choose from!
Try Buffalo Point, Bull Shoals. There is a town called Rush, AR that is an old mining ghost town. I want to get up there this summer.

I know there are a handful more of us Arkansans around.

Petit Jean was nice...unfortunately..I didn't have a polarizor before I went and most of my shots were completely blown out.

That problem is fixed now..and just waiting on another trip.

I am off to research this mining town. :)

Hey guys I'm from Arkansas too. Bryant

Places to shoot and your from NWA? Anywhere around the Buffalo River is good. Steele Creek, Ponca(elk), Hawksbill Crag(the most photographed(and published) rock in AR). Hedges pour off is great for sunrise(well summer the sun moves too far south but a good spot most of the time). Big Bluff, Dismal Hollow, Falling Water Creek, Pedistal Rocks, White Rock Mountain, Sweeden Creek Falls, Kings River Falls... Well there are a few off the top of my head.

By the way check out the Covershot on the latest "Arkansas Wild" magazine. I took it at Compton Falls in the Upper Buffalo River Wilderness.

Well, I lived there for five years when I went to the University of Arkansas at Faytteville.

My daughter is from Arkansas, she was born in Fort Smith; in St. James memorial if I still remember

I'm from Fayetteville and relatively new to the photography game.

Check out the series of books on the outdoors in Arkansas (waterfalls, hiking trails, etc) by Tim Ernst. They can be found at most bookstores. Awesome ideas and also awesome photography. Another good source is the Arkansas Watchable Wildlife Guide by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
