So last night I photographed a townhall meeting for the company I work for, it was a fairly large dark room, so I had to shoot at ISO 800 - 1000 (which is something I would never have done with my 200) and WOW looking at the photos the D300 has lived up to all the hype about it's High ISO noise handling!!!! There is precious little noise at all at 800 and even at 1000 not that much... I'm impressed and glad I bought the camera...!!!
PS photo to come later. |

Yeah, I'd like to see examples. I haven't shot in too many low-light conditions at high ISO, so I'm curious. I understand though that the D3 blows the D300 out of the water when it comes to noise handling. |

Try it at 3200 - it is still pretty darn awesome way up there!

try it at 6400!!! I fricking LOVE it!!!
That is the sole reason I bought the 300 instead of the 200. Because they showed me the low noise at 3200 and then at 6400 |

High ISO noise is the one major reason I will upgrade my D70s in the future... up to ISO 400 is really good, but 800-up the noise is visible. 1600 is pretty bad, I don't ever use it. |

ISO 1600 and 3200 is totally magazine print acceptable too! I have proof! |
