To the guy entering every challenge with an image of his dog:

Ok, I understand you love your pets. They're family. You like to take pictures of them. And they mean a lot to you.

That's all fine with me. Use one of the images as your desktop wallpaper. Put a framed one on your nightstand and posters on the wall. Get a pillow with a picture of your dog. Get a mug with the picture of your cat.

However, please do not submit Charlie or Kitty in every challenge. I can accept a dog jumping for a frisbee in a "Games" challenge. Kinda makes sense. You want to show your dog playing poker in the same challenge? Also fine with me, go ahead, that's even moderately creative.

But then you definitely crossed the line when you entered your dog in the "Bicycles" challenge. Ok, part of a handle bar was also visible in the image, but it was mainly a shot of your dog. Then you put both a cat and a dog in the "Portrait of a Camera" challenge. Including part of a camera somewhere in the image does not make it better. A highlight was the brown ribbon you got in the "Healthy Food" challenge for a picture of your dog. Simply your dog. It wasn't even eating anything. This probably means that you consider the dog itself healthy food. Ok, go ahead and have your dog for dinner. You may even take pictures. But please, just don't submit them for the next challenge.

Your dog was welcome in the sepia challenge, where you didn't have to add any other elements to the image to make it barely meet the challenge. But then you were at it again in the "Female Portrait" challenge. [identifying marker removed]! This is clearly not what was meant. In the "Male Portrait" challenge people were at least a bit more creative and submitted frogs. Still DNMC, but together with an appropriate title at least funny. And not a dog or a cat, which I give people credit for.

And now in the "Masks" challenge you again entered a picture of your dog. [identifying marker removed]

Thanks for future consideration. I'd appreciate it if you could restrain yourself.

P.S.: You missed the chance to submit your dog for the "Sun in the Frame" challenge. I guess you must have been sick or on vacation or something.

P.P.S.: Oh no, I can already smell the dogs and cats in the "Partners" challenge. There will be tons of pictures with titles like "Best Buddy". Voting will be though for me, I'm telling you. And I bet someone will put a picture of their pet in the "Night Sky" challenge. There will be a tiny bit of night sky in the background! And the title will somehow refer to either night or sky, just to be on the safe side.

(Don't take this too seriously. And yes, I'm aware of the fact that it's different people submitting pet pictures. ;-) )

I guess you aren't an animal lover, then ?

I have never understood this need to make other photographers change their subject matter. So what if certain people only want to shoot dogs or cats. Just let them, if it bothers you so much, just vote them down but for pete´s sake don´t whine about it like it´s their fault they like to shoot pet photos. This kind of post is the equivalent seems to me to be the equivalent of religious conversion. I would never dream of walking up to someone not of my religion and start preaching to them "the truth" and want them to see things my way.

I hear ya brother. And while we are on this kind of topic - I am so sick of people entering pics of their kids. I mean cmon! Find some different models. We all know you love your kids like they are family or something, but keep it for the 4x6 prints to put in your personal photo albums. Don't keep making us look at your rugrats trying to make them look cute and all. ;)

Or telling BearMusic to stop shooting boats, or indic to stop taking such beautiful self-portraits, or timfythefoo to stop using humor in his photos.

Just is NOT about to happen.

We shoot what we like, what interests us, what pulls us. Not what some random person says we should.

Ya know those landscapes kinda bother me too, and HOT men, why the heck put HOT men in challenges when I need a boyfriend, that is just torture dude

I think the op just has a sense of humor....and DID mention not to take this too seriously....I laughed anyway.

I think we need more hot men. That would be OK. You can lay off all those gorgeous women, though - that gets really old.

(And a few of you missed the tongue in cheek aspect of the original post. I thought it quite hilarious.)

Do I need to be entering more self portraits?

I am trying to fill my port with as many hot men as I can find. Unfortunetly they are mostly my friends who seem to be all gay.

And yes, I know it was just a slight of hand joke, but he is seriuos too about it

I LOVE animals, and I have entered a couple of pics of my pets (the pet portrait challenge... duh!!! and the first challenge I entered, which was "the eyes have it").

I do, however, completely agree with Sam. Just because your pet is cute doesnt mean its gonna make a good picture of whatever the challenge is.

Are ya trying to tell me this would not score a 7!!!! heartless!!!

It seems to me not only bad taste calling out specific entries during voting, but also against the forum rules

Gosh...I was going to take my cat Sammy to the beach for his silhouette in the "Sun in Frame" challenge, but he was napping...so I tried to match the blue to his eye instead...;-P

When it comes to pets...I truly believe that LESS is NOT more!

Dear Site Council...we need another Pet Challenge!

Thank you and Amen to Larus!

NO, seriously, you need to chill. The original poster in no way called out an individual shot that was currently in voting. Now move along and quite ruining the fun.

He did indeed call out a shot from the mask challenge,

"And now in the "Masks" challenge you again entered a picture of your dog... "

Thanks to timfythetoo and Rompy for getting it and playing along. I just noticed that there's dogs and cats in almost every challenge. And whenever a dog shows up in a completely unrelated challenge, I always think to myself "You did it again!" as if it was always the same person submitting the dog picture. I just thought I'd try and write a funny text about it. Guess I failed.

I was not sure whether the disclaimer at the end would be necessary. Now I realize I should have made it longer and put it at the beginning. ;-) And I'm not calling out or criticizing anyone, please try and have a tiny bit of humour. Please...

no one said the portraits had to be of human males or females c'mon get out of that box
besides bad pet/baby snapshots can only serve to make your picture look better
when commenting just type "oh cute dog" before DNMC and they will be satisfied
