Arghh. I like using black backgrounds and playing around with low lighting in my pictures. However, it's really frustrating that I get so many comments saying that my pictures are dark. I'm wondering if my laptop monitor is just much lighter than most people's.
I have looked at some of my pictures on the kids' PC downstairs, and it is amazing how much detail is lost on dark monitors.
I know about the little squares under the pictures, and I can see a difference in all of them. I'm just wondering if there isn't a way for everyone to set the lightness on their monitors to some sort of happy medium.
*sigh* I guess this is a bit of a rant. I just get so many comments about my shots being unnecessarily dark. Ignoring the effect on score, it's just annoying that people aren't seeing the picture as I intend it.
