		| | I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not photomatix is compatable with elements 6. or of any other hdr, or photomerging software that is out there?
 thanks a lot

		| | I just us the stand alone version. It then saves a file which I toss into photoshop. I haven't use it as a plugin but I don't see why it shouldn't work. |

I use the plugin with Photoshop CS; I actually use it more than the stand-alone version. It works pretty well.

Tonemapping is part of both processes; in the standalone, you create an HDR image, then you tonemap it.

In the plugin, you just tonemap.

If you have the standalone version, you save the result as JPG or TIF: Elements can handle both, so no worries. I have CS3, and I still prefer the standalone version over the plugin, so that is what I use.

		| | I prefer it over the wukong thing... I feel there is more control. I like the results... well here is one!

 THE ORIGINAL

 THE FINAL

I used three files for these... one correctly exposed and then bracketed 2 stops up and down for a total of three exposures. Then a heck of a lot of cloning and some dodge and burn on the sky. I normally would try and take a better first picture but I wanted the wow effect.

Best thing to do is to go to photomatix site and download the demo.... it has a tutorial. At least that's how I learned.
