How does it perform with a teleconverter? Does that make it... too blind to see?

It doesn't, you can only use the optional adapter to switch it from cropped to full frame. Teleconverters WILL NOT fit this lens. |

Well that rules me out, unless I buy a 40D just for this lens.
The estimated street price for the lens is $1500.00 USD, pretty reasonable for such a lens. Could just get a dedicated cropped sensor camera for the lens.
Originally posted by togtog: You are incorrect, that is for the chromatic aberration filter. It has nothing to do with the format. It looks like it is the same filter the D300 uses to clear up flare but it can ruin night shots, which is why it is optional. As for the format there is an adapter that makes it support both, however full-frame is two stops slower, so not really up to the hype.
Originally posted by Jib: it works with both full frame and cropped sensors, they have adistortion adjustment filter that drops into the back when you want to be wide, and you just turn the dial and it slides away untill you need it | |
