Yes, I have. And I don't get yours, or GeneralE's points. None of the images you are referring to would qualify as either explicit or sexual in nature. Your opinion may differ.

I posted mine because I mostly agree with you on this topic -- I'm just opposed to supporting the "naked=porn" fallacy.

Mostly Ditto... But then again was there not a thread some time ago... likely regarding another photographer (can't remember the name) with similar photos, and someone brought up the fact that the areas of the world that had a more 'liberal' view on sex and sexuality also had a lower instance of the same deviante behaviors that we (north americans) are trying to protect our children from.

Frankly I'm more on the fence then one might think... am I likely to post images of my son nude on the web? no... but is that more because it's wrong or because the part of the world I live in says it is?

To me this amounts to child porn, period. Why? Because some sicko will use it as such and there's no way to control that.

I understand where you are coming from but to play the other side of the argument for a sec..... The term "sicko" is subjective not objective... and besides, someone somewhere is getting off on ... oh I dunno... can openers or egg beaters or something... Do we ban all the create & barrel catalogues (kitchen shop for non US types)? I know that is a silly analagy but just going the other way for the flip side on the conversation....

I am glad they have been taken down and seized. What I want to know is what kind of parent allows this and weere they even there for the shoot? It disgusts me.

... And come on Billy, that it is these prudes that are causing children to grow up with negative self images - ridiculous. If anything, it is the ever growing (legal) sexual objectification of children through pop culture and marketing that is causing that sort of thing.

My opinion anyway, yours may vary and you're entitled to it, as I am mine. :)

(Of course you are completely entitled to your opinion... and your point has its merits too.

BUT

the words in my post were NOT some made-up obfuscation, but a direct quote from my 55 year old neighbor.

who happens to be my mother-in-law

(yikes - don't get me started! LOL)
