I just came across this article on the Telectroscope project that just opened in London & NYC. It would be very cool to do a portrait of a member across the Atlantic. :)

its 2 HD webcams, 2 large displays, and some trans-atlantic communication channels (i.e. the internet)

ETA: might hit it up this weekend anyway (if the subways cooperate)

That's pretty cool, I wonder how much it would cost to view.

I went down to Brooklyn Saturday morning and took a look, before it got crowded. It's free to visit. The hardest part was figuring out how to get from the subway stop to the Fulton Street Ferry landing.

I'll post a pic or two later, even though I'm not happy with the morning's shooting. However, the "telectroscope" was pretty cool.

Last night my daughter and I visited the Telectroscope on Fulton Ferry Pier under the Brooklyn Bridge. It's a lot of fun. You communicate with people at the London end of the 'scope' - which is by Tower Bridge - using message boards. There is no sound. Just a big, live picture being beamed across. At 7:00pm in NYC it is 12:00 midnight in London. Nice to talk to people in London on a rainy evening after the pubs have closed. Here in NYC it was warm and humid.
