You could still use it -- as long as no one has a reason to suspect it of being illegally edited, or you feel certain of a top-five finish ... ;-)

But taking a better picture is always a good plan too ...!

Top five? Why should I lower my expectations? ;)

(Oh, and past performance is not indicative of future results)

Talking about DNG...... What about those of us using the new Canon Xsi (aka 450D) and shooting in RAW? Currently the only way to proccess my RAW files is converting to DNG (Aperture does not work with the new cr2 file and as far as I know CS2 don't either, now CS3 may but I don't have a copy of that yet). I do save my cr2 files so when Aperture will work I can delete all my DNG files.

You get a card reader. You drag & drop your files to a desktop folder from the card. You create a subfolder and copy all your files to the subfolder. You then use your normal workflow on any file in the subfolder. If validation is needed, it exists in the original folder. Cumbersome, but safe for now.

Well once again thanks for all the comments.

I would emphasise that I have no complaints about the DQ, if I was in the SC and was faced with the same situation I would have Dq'd because of the tagged file

I am still not 100% sure why this single image from a bunch of others was tagged but I will change my workflow in the future and hopefully some of the issues discussed will help others avoid the same fate

Cheers

Also make a backup copy. It saved me once when my computer crashed.

I don't delete any file from the card until I've copied it to the hard drive and burned a copy to CD/DVD.

I run a raid on my external hard drives so my backups are automatic.
