Photos showing the fire in real time, and the aftermath from my home town. Enjoy, and your comments are welcome!

WOW,
Nice photojournalism!

I used to live in Escondido, I climbed Mt Woodson on a daily basis. Couldn't really tell if it was torched. Was it?

Most of Mt Woodson survived, but the area to the south of it is a moonscape. It's heartbreaking.

Thanks for the shots, and info I too have a relative living in Mt woodson. Hard to believe so much destruction so quickly.

Hi Miles - great photos. Browsing your galleries I was very impressed with the wedding photos. You should consider doing this professionally if you dont already

I shoot about 5-8 weddings a year, not alot. I'm actually a full time writer who wants to be a full time photojournalist.

Thanks for your kind words and interest.

Amazing shots; I applaud your commitment to documenting this. I have family in Ramona and Poway, so have been on pins and needles, especially when we couldn't get ahold of them for several days.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful shots.

milest, those are great shots. They are so eery, though. I can't imagine living through that. And that one shot of the trailor that still standing; who would want to move back there with everything around them burnt. How awful.

Did you guys see on the news the lady that wasn't wearing her wedding band when she had to rush out of the house? She dug through all of the ashes and finally, after hours of digging, found her wedding ring! It was just fine, too. She was so happy. They had lost everything but when she finally found her ring she said, "Life is good." Amazing.
