Although they sure look similar to mosquito larvae, I'd bet they are not. They look more to me like newborn caterpillars, but hard to be sure. |

Pretty darn sure. I believe newly hatched tent caterpillars (the other obvious choice given the web) are basically hairless.

Mosquito larvae are born in water. These are in a web... howso? I think they're moth tent caterpillar larvae. :P |

There's always evaporation. To your point, the location might be the best clue. If these were found in a tree, then they're not likely to be mosquitos, but they sure look like it to me. |

I've been looking at larvae pics and i'm not so sure anymore. Call Grissom, I think he may know. ;\
I've been searching caterpillar larvae/babies and nothing pops up except a guy dressed in shorts dancing in his room....

I would definitely say some sort of butterfly/moth larvae. This link has a picture of a Painted Lady Larvae that looks very close but I can't see the hairs with the angle of the shot.
ETA: They are probably not this butterfly but they do look very similar.

Sorry, I should have probably included that info. None of them are moving. I found this on the outside of a door to a storage shack. No water anywhere.

I agree, very similar but not quite.
Most likely moth, as they outnumber butterflies by several times, but I'm finding it hard to identify because most pictures are of mature larvae and I'd say these are very young.
Several species build fine webs when they're small then move out of them and disperse.
Look near the web and see if you can see any signs of the remains of an egg case of any sort attached to the shed. This might help :) |

I don't recall seeing an egg case but I did take some photos of a moth sitting on the wall right next to the door where those were found. I'll post those in just a sec.

Those things are revolting. :-P And they move like hot snot. On the plus side, the cats love them as a tasty treat. |
