An interesting device to be sure... it's basically an automated panoramic head. What it achieves can be done now with a simple mechanical device. Even hand-held panoramas can approach the 100 Mpx mark. If the device truly can be produced for a few hundred dollars, it could well revolutionize capture of panoramas, since it would be no more expensive than today's mechanical pano heads.
The real challenge, though, is the post-processing. Even with today's computer power, stitching a large number of images in a high-quality manner takes time, and lots of it. It's somewhat easier with telephoto shots, which typically have less distortion than WA shots do, but it still requires a lot of computing power. |

| The example is made of only 9 images :\ Not really showing near the quality of 350 images togheter unfortunately. I would like to see that. |

The detail when zooming in is amazing. In the right third of the image on the other side of the river is a guy in red walking a bike. I can't even pick him out when looking at the whole picture, but he is pretty clear when you zoom in and find him.

Looks pretty cool - but i'm not sure "mums and dads" will take something like that on holiday to get a picture of a sunset or mountain top vista. Just use a wide-angle...
But yeah - very interesting bit of kit to do it on auto. I remember seeing a stupidly high resolution image somewhere online which was a daytime cityscape (couple of ghosts here and there but overall amazing to zoom in and read newspaper headlines etc) |

| I hadn't noticed the guy walking with the bike. It's kind of like a Where's Waldo thing zooming into the pic. |
