thanks !

i saw them at giants stadium in '91 i think
and at the huge event in highgate vermont - '95 maybe. bob dylan opened.
here's the highgate show at archive.org

//www.archive.org/details/gd95-06-15.schoeps.7745.sbeok.shnf

to put that event in perspective. i live the most populous county in vermont ( chittenden ). there were as many people at that show as there are in chittenden county ;}

ugh ! ;}

if you're not a fan, but want to check them out i'd suggest the album 'reckoning' live acoustic.

or 'one from the vault - vol 1 ' live at filmore

I've heard OF them all my life, but never HEARD them until the 80s with that great song. All I knew was potheads followed them around the country (present company excluded). I'll see what I can find with those albums.

Advanced editing, definitely. How else you gonna get the sky yellow and the sun blue?

I stopped counting after 50 shows, and even that doesn't count the numerous jerry band and other spin off shows I saw ... if you really want to hear them, you gotta listen to them live. The Dead Podcast is as good a place as any to start. And to see the spoken poetry in the music, check this site out at UC Santa Cruz ... soon to be the home of the Grateful Dead archive.

I'm all over this one. I don't know, but I suspect Bear_Music, with a name like that, might be too ...

ah, thanks soup.

You got me digging through all my old albums like I've been meaning to do forever.

... now if only I had a record player.

' europe 1972 ' two disc live

' bears choice vol 1 ' acoustic with pig pen before he went away ( 18 min smoke stack lightning )

got to get out of the run of the mill dead, and dig a little deeper... ;}

sadly i lost all my bootlegs in a house fire in '96 all my tapes were melted together into a bootleg brick.

I've got a couple shoeboxes full of tapes and probably a couple hundred+ CDs that I rarely have time to listen to ... if there's a show you're just jonesing to hear again let me know, and if I got it I'll dig it out and send it to you ... The Greek Theatre (Berkeley) runs in the early '80s were always some of my favorites, as well as the show from Eugene in 1978(?) when they played Fire on the Mountain just as (rumor had it) Mt. St. Helens was starting to blow ...

Sounds like 2-11-70 at the Fillmore, one of the best shows of that era, or ever. You can have a listen here.. Is that it?

that's the one !!! thanks a ton.

funny thing is i totally guessed at one of the allmans being there. got the tape 2nd hand with no description. just here - have a listen... the tape cut off just before greg had his vocal solo. ;}

the fleetwood mac guest - i'm still surprised i got it right...

this is a much better copy than the one i had... double bonus !
