Its Bike to Work Week in Spokane this week. The Co-op I work for is a major sponsor for the event here in town so I've gotten to get involved right in the middle of the event. The week was kicked off with a great pancake breakfast in downtown. It was awesome to see lots of bikes riding around downtown today. This is the first organized Bike To Work Week in Spokane in many years. Nearly 900 signed up (We were shooting for 300!) Its over 10,000 miles saved!
Cheers,

Ditto for Boston: Bike to work week. They were aiming for 50,000 miles, but last I heard they already got over 100,000! (That's including my measly 16 miles). |

Ditto. and my bike won't make it up the stairs.
Best of luck to all the participants & more (non-fossil-fuel-burning) power to ya! |

Me too!
The gas (and cash) I'm saving is making me ever so smug. :)

I always cycle to uni :) I always thought of it as saving £3 per day on bus fares, but now I guess I can think of it as saving 14 miles per day for the planet :)

I think it would be easier if I just take the week off of work. Might go for a Bike Ride though. |

I'd love to bike to work.
Unfortunately, I work 40 miles from my house and an 80 bike commute just isn't going to happen and there's no way to combine with bus/train etc. |
