hi guys! newbie here..
I'm Ryan from Manila, Philippines.. my Canon G9 is two weeks old and i'm still trying to get the hang of it! it's my first "serious" take into photography.. i was a Nikon N70 (F70 for other countries) and N80 (F80)- both only with kit lenses- before and i had to sell them a few years back to finance me further into my SCUBA diving career..
i always thought that i have a fairly good sense of what a good photo ought to be.. but i just needed the right equipment and training/instruction.. and of course, practice.. now that i have the equipment, i can practice.. and i hope by joining this forum, i can get a good amount of instruction from all the users here.. and hopefully grow as a photographer..

Welcome! Jump right in the water's fine! Keep that waterproof suit handy--it's good to have a thick skin ready for the critiques. Dive into reading the forums...there's lots of good stuff already fished up in here. But be sure to remember to come up for air once in awhile, decompress, and avoid the bends.
