So here's the deal.. I've been told by a birdy that johnsons Canyon may not be suiatble for a hike because it's still pretty iced up. so 2 options the way I see it

a) wait until the conditions are better (say in a month or so) Jun7th GTG
b) pick a different location

any thoughts

I am apparently driving to Red Deer Saturday to go to the museum. (i.e. I can't make it anyways)

Anyways, according to //www.johnstoncanyon.com/ they are open from May 16 to Oct 12. Not sure if that's just the cabins or the trails too. June would be nice its better to go earlier as there are less people and more water. (theoretically). That being said June 7th sounds good to me. If everyone else is agreement I will book it in my calendar to ensure that my fiancee doesn't whisk me away far off exotic locations.

I cant come out to play this weekend as its mothers day on Sinday and the wife and I are ditching the little one and going hiking, June 7 could be better for me :)

BTW AFAIK the trails at Johnson's Canyon are open year round... I think those dates are for the lodges

I spoke with my fiancee and we've decided that we would like to participate in this if its still a go on June 7. Funny how we're a package deal but I guess with so much on our plates until the wedding we're pretty much welded together at the hip.

Haha, this just keeps getting better. I may be out for the 7th as well. I just finished a photog course here and the instructor has invited me to shoot with her at a wedding that day :D

Im nervous as all heck but vibrating with excitement at the same time :)

Trust me... weddings are too much fun... especially when you don't have the pressure of having to get all the money shots :)

So I guess the concensus is we'll try again for June 7 and see how many are available closer to that time :) I'm still not totally convinced that you all exist so we have to make something happen so you can all prove youre real :) lol

Well Ive proved my existence to a couple DPC'ers now, and on that note if Im not wearing it my DPC hat is on my pack from now on, thanks to the incredible generosity of FocusPoint, so if you see a guy with a black camera backpack with a DPC hat on it then give me a tap on the shoulder and say HI :)

I dont think my wife would take to kindly of me trying to get those types of photos and thought those would be left for the honeymoon ;)
