if I adjust an image directly, not using an adjustment layer, then immediately go to Edit>Fade xxx and in that pop-up select luminosity so the adjustment only affects brightness and not color, is this legal in basic? Or does 'Normal' apply to these adjustments too? As in if I had used an adjustment layer I know I can only merge that in Normal mode in basic.
