Okay, it's a good thing we're in rant now, because I need to, and don't want to start a thread for it, just wanna vent.

We live in a duplex. Our neighbours started a party at midnight. At about 2 some of the "guests" were out in the street yelling. One threw a beer bottle at the house.
Becky went out and yelled at them and, of course, they merely yelled back in much more foul language. Just then the woman of the house came out and drunkenly yelled at them to leave and had words with them. We told her we'd call the police for her, she said, "Thank you."

Cops arrived, took a while talking to folks, maybe did some roadside sobriety tests, I dunno, but they let other vehicles leave, eventually. Then they brought the woman out in hadcuffs and spent quite a while with her at their car.

This couple is from Alberta, moved here so he could be near his baby by an ex. Well, next thing we know an SUV parks in our driveway, meets with the cops, and after a while the driver brings out... THE BABY. I couldn't believe that they were partying like that with the baby in the house.

They all leave, a few minutes later another vehicle arrives, then leaves right away. There's thumping from next door, I figure he's punching walls or something cuz he's upset. Right away 3 cop cars pull up again and almost immediately they're bringing her out in cuffs again! She didn't like that and one had his pepperspray out but didn't use it. They didn't mess around this time, hustled her into the car and gone.
So I think maybe they'd released her the first time on the condition that she go with one of the others, but she came back, angry, and he called the cops back.

We've been trying for a year to find somewhere to move and can't find anything that's just right, but I'm about ready to settle for almost anything to get away from this crap! The last 3 tenants there have all been idiots, but when we told the landlord that Beck and Mike were interested he said he didn't want young people, after finding a grow-op in one of his other places. WTF? They can live here with no problem, but if they move into the other half, a wall away from parents, they'll suddenly start a grow-op? And like his choices have been that good... one couple disappeared in the middle of the night after being months behind on their rent... ARGHHHHHHH!!!!

Okay, I'm done. It's 4:25am and I'm trying vainly to relax enough for bed.

Sheilz...sorry to hear about the crappy neighbors. Can't believe the landlord is SO narrow minded and apparently, not too bright! Tell the landlord that Beck and Mike could move in and he could give YOU a key to their apartment also, thus preventing a "grow op". (Rolling my eyes). Since they aren't doing it while living with you (like they would), they wouldn't do it if you were able to come and go as you pleased, lol. (Like any of this is even relevant.) The Landlord sounds stupid enough to fall for it! :P

Hope you got a few winks in. You do need your beauty sleep at your age...muahahaha (runs like hell before Sheilz kicks my ass, lol!)
But...on that note I'm right there with ya! ;) Hugs!

Lol Kat, I don't think I have the energy to even raise a foot to kick with! I got to sleep about 7:30, to be woken at 10:20 by them thumping around next door. Hubby was woken by them earlier than that.

The landlord just can't be bothered any more. He's in his 60's and is talking about selling off some or all of his places, aiming toward retirement. He knows we're looking to move and I suspect that when we do he'll put the place on the market, but doesn't want to force us out after 7 years when he knows that if we had somewhere to move, we would.
He's been pretty decent to us; our rent is less than half the current market rate and it's never been raised in 7 years (we'll be looking at a jump in rent of over $1000/mo). He just hasn't done so well in choosing his last 3 tenants!

Sigh... I need a nap...
