Which to get?

I want reliability, but not necessarily the best stuff on the market.

What exactly was the problem. I haven't read any reviews where they mentioned problems.

I pop my skyports on and start flashing. I've never had a problem with them. Click-flash. Click-flash. Click-flash. They worked right out of the box for me.

Count me in the "No complaints on the skyports" camp.

I just ordered the Skyports. I found a thread on strobist discussion group comparing the two and I liked what I read. Thanks for the extra help here.

Can I ask what the price difference was?

The skyports are half the price.

To fire one flash, you need two pocket wizards = $380.

To fire one flash, you need one elinchrom set (trans + rec) = $180.

To fire two flashes, you need three pocket wizards = $570

To fire two flashes, you need one elinchrom set and one extra receiver = $280.

When you start adding more skyports to the mix, the price blows the pocket wizard price out of the water. Each spare skyport is $85 less than a pocket wizard.

KevinG so now that you have had these for a couple of months, what do you think of them?
