I have just stumbled across this link Flickeur and thought it would be pretty cool if DPC had an option like this where you could choose to let your PC just show a continous stream of DPC images as a background.

It might be worth excluding some galleries from the stream, but I think it would be a great background when you are doing other things, or just want to see the vast assortment of images DPC holds presented to you.

This particular programme seems to only hold so many, and if you get bored hitting 'refresh' will select new ones.

Have a look :- )

Hey Jedusi, sorry that I'm posting with nothing relevant to your DPC idea, but I just had to share another image stream with you that your post made me think of: Flickriver

I thought it was cool anyway when I found it a couple of days ago.

I like that idea. it would be a good way of seeing some of the thousands of photos on DPC that one just never has the time to browse. It would not enhance the main purpose of the site though, but if someone did that as a community project, it would be pretty cool.

Would it 'enhance the main purpose of the site?' I've no idea to be honest - it would give you the chance to see a wider range of images than you might normally choose (due to the randomness) that may inspire you in your own work - and that seems to fit in fairly well.

While there are countless ways of seeing individual shot's here - sometimes a moving stream just allows you to sit back and enjoy instead of having to keep stepping through one shot after another.

This is the sort of thing that might be right up smurfguy's street :- )

puzzled thanks for that other link. The only problem for me (again) is that you can't just sit and watch it, you have to keep scrolling.
