I'll start with a haiku:

Oh Update Button!
Taunt Me. Promise Me Increase!
No More Clicking! Oops...

I wrote this one last year:

Mediocreville

Clickin' on update
Stayin' up too late
Watchin' my score as it hovers near 5
Self-DQ I'm thinking as my score is sinking
I'll never get out of this challenge alive

Wastin' away again in mediocreville
Searchin' for a 6, 7 or 8
Some people claim that there's a troll or 2 to blame
Cuz I know my photo's really great

Don't know the reason
My photo's not pleasin'
I used lots of filters from Photoshop 9
Sharpened and resized, tried to pimp the eyes
On my monitor it looks really fine

Wastin' away again in mediocreville
Searchin' for a 6, 7 or 8
Some people claim that there's a troll or 2 to blame
Now I think, hell it might not be great

I look at my profile
It rarely makes me smile
I've only won 1 ribbon so far, it's blue
It's a real cutie, a Scalvert-like beauty
How it got there I haven't a clue

THE LAKE ISLE OF DPC

I will arise and go now, and go to DPC,
And a sweet image enter, of water droplets made,
All glittering in the sunset, with a macro'd bee,
The whole within a border most tastefully arrayed.

And I shall hit the update as the scores come dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
When midnight's all a-glimmer, I shall no tantrums throw,
as I watch my score keep rising on bright fairy wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I dream of voters praising me with an outrageous score;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements gray,
I dream it in the deep heart's core.

There once was a figure named Woody.
Saw hamming up photos as his duty.
The splashing milk it was sad.
The water droplets got mad.
And Woody was drowned, what a pity.

I realize it may not help/interest you personally, but an old aquaintance of my mom's, Hamilton Camp, wrote a beautiful piece of music to go with that poem ... I've known it for 40 years but never learned to play it. :-(
