looking for Calgarians - DPChallenge Forums

I have a project I want to try to pull off, and me being me my wife is freaking out about me doing this alone, Im hopefully going out to elbow falls tonight for a night shoot involving painting with light so it will be after dark prob target to be out there for 9:30ish if anyone wants to get in on this I will be checking my emails and here till about 8:00 tonight.

I can take a couple people in my car or meet out there or the like, if anyone is interested in this let me know sooner than later and hopefully we can arrange something and if not then Im going out there alone then...

*UPDATE*
Im going to try again this friday night, I will be bringing 2 large flashlights in hopes that will be enough but if anyone else has any large powerfull lights please do bring them, Canadian Tire has some 1,000,000 candle power spot lights for around $20 or $30 which is what I will be using but the batteries dont last much more than about 30-40min and thats indoors so Im hopeing for a relatively warm evening.

I will be heading out to the falls about between 2030 and 2100 so I can set up in a bit of light. I'll post names at the top of the thread for anyone who wants to join.

nope haven't left yet, Im not 100% still after these damn tests today so Ill hold off till tomorrow night, and anyone else that wants to come can chime in and we will organize it from there...

I not sure about next weekend, if I can make it Ill go but Ive been trying to do this for weeks and when I get an opportunity like this lately I take it, so Ill still be going tomorrow regardless. I know there was a potential GTG for I thought it was either next weekend or the following to go to Johnson's Canyon which Im going to also try to go to as Ive been trying to get there as well while theres still lots of ice hopefully on the upper falls...

Anyway I have the same plan for tomorrow where Ill be leaving around 2100ish from my house which is pretty much just across 22x from Spruce meadows, Ill check my emails tomorrow and this thread for anyone else that mite want to go with and we'll try to figure out where to meet and if the roads are good I mite take the Camaro out as its all insured now :D

Send me a PM, I'm in the hood. I'll help you with your need to go into hungry spring bear country at night maybe during the week if you wish. Just bring a couple of steaks to throw at the critters in case we get chased. ;-)

I'm very interested to see how your painting with light with the large flashlights works out. Do me a favor please, and PM me if I don't acknowledge any pics that you post from this event. I would surely appreciate it since I have been thinking about getting some 1,000,000+ candle power lights to try this myself.

Thanks for the PM and the link to the picture, David. It looks like you've definitely got a lot of potential with your idea there.

There was a sailboat anchored in a bay that I could shoot from above by walking along a high bridge. I took a lot of shots of it at various times of the day but I didn't act quick enough to get set up with spot lights to do some painting with light before it left. Everytime I drive across that bridge now I look to see if it or another sailboat might have anchored there.
