Hello everyone,

I have saved all of my raw and converted tif files to a dvd-rw so I could move between my PC and laptop this week. My workflow has the raws in top level, tiffs in a folder, processed layered tiffs their own folder, a processed jpg folder, and then a proofs folder.

Everything saved to the dvd-rw fine in the pc, however when I try to save inside a folder using the same dvdrw on the laptop it says I don't have permission to save in this directory.

My PC is Windows Vista and my laptop is Windows XP if that is helpful.

Does anyone have suggestions on how save where I want them on the dvdrw using the laptop? Is there a special setting when I create the disk?

Thanks

Could it be that the permissions on the folder aren't set right?

With the initial creation of the folder and contents the permissions may have been set for read only.

Just a shot in the dark.

Did you 'close' the disc when you recorded last time? This would prevent further r/w operations to the disc.

no, I didn't close the disk, I just took it out of the drive. I just checked the permissions and everything inside the folders is read only. I can however save without putting the files in a folder on the disk so I will still have the backup...just not as organized as I would like.
