The Cordish company is doing a seven hundred million dollar developement project (Power & Light District) in my town. They have contacted me to get a quote on what I would charge for complete rights of a photo. What should I charge? Here is what they wrote me. I searched the forums a little but could not find the answer. My guess is $8,000-10,000. Does this sound right?
Jonathan,
I work for the company that owns the development and we would like to purchase that shot (which shows the staircase and arena) for use in our promotional pieces.
Please send a quote for review.
Nice work, great angle.
Regards

actually that sounds a bit high. I think the company I used to work for sold copyright to one image for 2500-5000 depending on the importance of it. Although the guy does not say anything about copyright, lots of people don't understand what it means exactly and you might have to educate him on it. He probably just wants to buy rights to use/ publish the image. Does he want exclusive rights? for how long?
I like to sell the copyright so I don't have to play policeman later... for now :0) |

Do you then pay for licensing the images to include in your own promotional materials? |
