I just saw the new challenge with min editing (very excited about this - and ppl say the challeges arent challenging)

I will check this when i get back home, but does selecting bw option on your camera have any difference from taking a color photo and desaturizing it in an editing prog?

desat in post is usually pretty blah and not used often. In-camera B&W usually has at least some contrast settings and often some toning.

Hi, think you're much better off doing your black and white in photoshop. CS3 has a b/w converter built in, but I still go with lab colour> lightness> greyscale and then tweak levels and curves. Hope this helps! Lynn

If you choose B&W in camera, but shoot RAW, the pics come out in colour anyway, and you have to post de-sat.

(At least they do on my canons...)
