I have recently started using CS3. I do loads of Batching with Actions. When doing this in CS2 I never had this problem....but in CS3 my computer is constantly freezing up. I have to reboot everytime....making for a slow painful job. Am I missing something...maybe buffering or something that I need to change....and if so...how do I change it?

I run a mac with leopard OSX and have had some trouble with CS3 after doing a clean instal on my mac, my filters wont run, stuff keeps crashing out. I have tried reverting back to tiger osx, same thing, now I have returned to using CS2 and although a fraction slower, everything works fine.

I feel your pain Judy. An old friend used to say, "if it's not broken don't fix it" so now I'm back on CS2 and happy again. In my case I think it was because i have the leopard UPGRADE and it screwed everything up after installing clean from that disc, in YOUR case I have no idea what could be causing it (I'm presuming you run a mac)

Judi i would personally try and give it more ram at least minimal 1GB will speed the processes k hopefully also fix your other problems also what other hardware u running with it eg. what processor speed and how old your pc??? these little things can cause problems with Adobe products i know that sounds weird but they right this software and run their benchmarks on the current systems then try to retro run the software. Which ca make it hard for us users gggrrrr. Hope this helps am not an expert but do like to play with this stuff lol

You could bump it to the max of the recommended range. Mine's at 1077MB (not sure if I set it there or not). Jason might have something - uninstall / reinstall. PITA with plugins and custom brushes, etc though.

Ken, I have tried it with no other programs running, just in case....and that didn't make a difference...sometimes I can get 50 images through..other times only 4. PITA for weddings.

Jason....I have done defrags....if the change in the RAM doesn't help, then I will have to reinstall.

I am doing a test batch through CS2 at the moment and 'touch wood' it seems to be running through...so I may just have to stick with that through this wedding...but before my next wedding in two weeks I will do a reinstall of CS3.
