Well, It seems these events are just something to shake a stick out and make plans 'not' to attend.

I have recently been informed that three of my images (Two of which where created during two separate open houses) Will be in a Personality Gallery Showing in Las Vegas. Now isn't that cool as hell? I will post more info as I can, and most likely start me own thread L()L.

So, it isn't just something fun to do to take 'snaps' at. You can create some seriously fantastic images. Maybe next time someone else will be telling us about images from the event going into a gallery show.

Hey Andrew... not quite fair... I have every intention of going to the open house! I would love to go to the meetup as well but I am tied up that night.

L()L I just read what I wrote and it doesn't make much sense to me. L()L I have fumbled half the words I am typing currently already L()L. I think I need to go to bed L()L.

I think what I was trying to say, is the events are something that are fun and serious. I know how some people, including myself have 'made other plans' to avoid going somewhere where it may or may not be 'my scene'. Or out of fear of not knowing anyone, or looking foolish or something.

I don't mean to put anyone down, or call anyone out saying they are making things up. Not my intention. Just saying its fun and stuff and I am even getting images in a Gallery showing because of my participation at the events. So its Cool. Fun. and stuff. 6-;.

Ok, off to beddy bye. L()L

I'm going to be making a feature page for the D. M. Gremlin Studios contingent featured in this show. Work by myself, Gremlin (the late founder of our studio), Andrew, and Adam Chilson comprises almost half of this juried exhibition - 9 out of 20 images selected. Not bad, especially considering that I believe 6 of those 9 images featured between the 4 of us were shot right here at the studio within the past year.

I'll post a link to the page when I have it completed. I'm very proud of the work being done here, honored myself to have had two images selected for the show, and just very pleased that our studio can be a "home base" so to speak for such excellent artists.

As for the open house nights and other events - they can be regarded as serious shoots, or just simply fun social events. It's whatever each person wants it to be for them, which is part of the great versatility of this place. From hobbyists to dedicated artists to working professionals - none of these being mutually exclusive - the resources here are available to work, play, and create.

It was great to see you there Chuck. It was also fun slicing your wrist open L()L. Which reminds me I need to post that one soon. L()L..

Two Teaser images from the Open House on my end of things...

There was a live band, crazy props, and of course my Gore Corner which I moved outside for this event. Feel free to check out more images in my Gallery here (when I get around to loading/editing them) or the official Forums for D.M. Gremlin Studios.

Thanks Andrew, I definitely had another great time... what a great group of fun and talented people. I truly enjoyed getting my wrist slit. If you don't mind posting it (or email it to me at chuck@hye5.com) that would be great as my kids didn't get a chance to see it in all its gory (I mean glory)!

Here are a few of the shots I got from the night, although I am still going through a lot of them. I will post them on the Gremlin Studio website as well.

My first time playing with a new medium, sculpting the wound. Lisa from Battledress Paint and Body did the colouring.
