I use PriceRunnerwhen I'm looking for electrical things. I searched for the 300D with the lens kit when I was buying mine and saw it for £815.
Have a look here : 300D + Lens Kit
I printed out the cheapest ones I could find, went along to Jessops and they did a price match without any problems. |

Brilliant, haven't regretted getting it at all, well, have when I got my Visa bill in...
I got 100-300mm SIGMA lense with it, plus a few extras.
I am out a lot more taking pictures, certainly more than I was with my Coolpix 995.
I was thinking originally about a 10D but couldn't really justify the spend, when the 300D came out I knew that was the one to get.
If you're not sure, head in to Jessops and ask them to have a look at it. They were really good when I went it, they took me outside the shop to have a good shot at it, the manager showed me what everything did, excellent service...
Get it as an early Christmas prezzie for yourself! :-)

Thanks for that Terry. Seriously consdering the 300D but have not long had my 602Z, bought that in March. Its a great camera but the quality of the lens, the heart of any camera, is a bit lacking. Anyway as my wife 'broke' her washing machine yesterday i am off to Comet's in a mo to get her a new one. Well if Pam can have a new toy dont see why i cant!!

I bought the 300D the day it arrived here in our town...October 17th and love this camera. I paid 995 US dollars with the lens that came with it and then added the Tamron 28-200mm XR lens . |

I can't believe it - we actually have a cheaper price here in Australia than in the UK!
DirtCheapCameras.com sells the 300D kit with lens for AU$1,750 (around £720).
edit: and that includes 10% GST - only on Australian purchases.

I may just hang on as the price of the 300D is dropping quicker than I anticipated. It all depends on how long i can last out...and do I really Need one.....anyway Mrs Wife is now very happy with her new washing machine so i have plenty of brownie points in the bank!!

Has it come down much though? I know that Jessops brought it down £100 almost instantly, but I haven't noticed it getting any cheaper. Mind you, I've got mine now so don't really pay too much attention. |

Body only for £699 incl vat but not postage at //www.svcdirect.co.uk
Considering the camera has not been out that long the price has come down £25 since last month, not a huge amount. As i am not desperate to get one yet and i have to convince myself i need one, i am going against my normal practice of 'buy it now' and see how long i can hang on! |

Print out that info from their web site and take it along to Jessops. The should be able to do the price match. It only takes them about 5 minutes to phone their head office and get an authorisation code.
I've just gone in with a friend who wanted a small digital camera, we saved over £100 just by taking a few printouts in from the internet.
I am so glad I didn't wait to get the 300D. I was going to wait till after Christmas but after seeing it on the Wednesday, I knew I wanted it. We went in on the Thursday morning and picked it up.
Go on, you know you want to! ;-) |
