Some excellent birds outside but my camera isn't set to just focus on the center spot. It keeps focusing on the background and everything else but the bird that's in the center. How do I switch that setting to focus on the center on a D80? My manual is MIA...

To change the focus point, move the focus lock switch on the back from L up to the dot position. Then use the 4-way button just above that to move the focus location -- you'll see it highlight the new location through the view finder.
