While staying at hotels, it's always interesting to see how the cleaning staff will have arranged the toiletries which I'd left spread across the bathroom sink that morning. I wish I'd taken photos from other hotels, but better late than never. Maybe I can make a coffee table book.
I'd like to see photos of this occurrence from other people. We could discuss the artistic merits of the various layouts.
Here's mine from today:
I like the orthogonal layout, and the use of negative space in the centre. What are your thoughts?
Any travellers who've been visited by the Toiletry Fairy?

Wow, fancy! All we ever got on our trip down-under was the toothbrushes put into a glass. I'm jealous :( |

Wait until you get the picture in the mail of your tooth brush and what they did with it before they placed it neatly on the sink :0 |

Ah I've never taken pics of it before! But in the Marriott in Victoria, BC, everything was laid out on a washcloth like that, in a row, in front of my makeup bag. Very neat and tidy.

Ah, but it hasn't only happened to me at fancy joints. The last place I stayed a pack of cockroaches threw some poor tourists out of their room and proceded to take advantage of the complimentary continental breakfast of a slice of butter-it-yourself toast and an instant coffee.
I can't wait to see if tomorrow has a different design in store here! Stay tuned! :-D
Hopefully my toothbrush won't taste too odd. :-P

Great idea. Keep us posted. Wish I could help you out, but we never go anywhere lately; if I had the time I might practice as a toiletry fairy, but that sounds like a Too story. |

I always put my stuff away after use when I am in a hotel. I don't want anyone touching my stuff. I heard some really gross stories before.
One story was actually pictures that were taken on their camera that was left in the room one day. I can't say what was on the photos but the images made the items unusable. They didn't see the pictures until they got home from vacation and the pictures were developed, so they continued to use their toothbrushes. |
