First, thanks to the voters for the many compliments and high scores for my submission to the DNMC challenge.

Boo hoo to the site committee for disqualifying this image.

You put a challenge with the rules "Create a photograph that does not meet this challenge." I specifically stated in the title why it did not meet the challenge. Especially doing this on April Fool's day I didn't think you would DQ anyone.

This seems like a challenge where if you aren't DQ'd you didn't follow the challenge rules.

Anyway the picture was taken 25 years ago...I was requested to send the original within 24 hours but I didn't know where to send the negative.

Message edited by Manic - please dont link to images that are still in voting, DQd or not.

I can see what you meant though, brave effort.

LOL about the negative! I never enter challanges because I don't understand the rules. I thought for sure this challange would have been one that I could have done because I was thinking the same thing you did about the rules on this challange.

I also thought the same thing about the challenge, I was actually going to submit a drawing, not a picture....HOWEVER, I asked site council if that would be allowed and was given this response:

"All of the normal editing and submission rules apply. A drawing would not be a photograph, and therefore would get disqualified."

you must still follow all the rules for the challenge...and I ended up taking a photo.

Why didn't you take a photo of your drawing? I do that all the time to submit my paintings and drawings into art shows! Just a thought for next time!

Why "boo hoo" the site council? You're the one who checked off that you'd read and understood the rules when you submitted the scan. Was the photo taken within the challenge dates? No.

Don't take it out on SC. It's been said a million times in threads over the DNMC challenge - DNMC does NOT equal breaking the challenge rules.

edit to add NOT.

then you run into the rule about submitting a photo that consists entirely of a work of art....or something like that.

True! There again is why I don't enter challenges.
edit-I mispelled the word challenges, and almost did it again right there.

The challenge description and the rules are two totally different animals. You can't be disqualified for not meeting the description, you can be for not following the rules
