Acting on the numerous suggestions in this thread about sand in my camera I dropped my camera off today to get it professionaly cleaned. It's going to be a least a week (and way too much $$).

It's only been 4 hours and I keep finding myself thinking, "that would make a good photo, I should take a picture of that". This is happening every 15-30 minutes.

I'm not sure I can make it a week. I may break down and go rent a camera tomorrow.

I have to take mine in to get cleaned as well. Hopefully it won't be longer than a week :D

The first place I took it to said they would have to send it back to Canon and it would be 4 weeks minimum.

That's what I am afraid of. With the weather warming up here, and wedding season approaching, I don't want to wait that long. I will have to get off my butt and do it right away!

Just got the estimate. $310. Ouch.

And worse I won't have the camera for another 10-12 days. So that will be 2 weeks of challenges I will miss. :(
