My computer went ahead and played an April fools day trick on me. After an hour of playing around for today's 24hr contest I got what I was looking for. I really liked the shot I was going to enter. I was able to load the pictures from the camera to the computer and start to work opn it with Photoshop when boom! My computer shut off. I tried to restart it and 2 seconds into the boot, off! I gave it an hour and tried again, had about 5 min (almost enough to finish the picture, but not quite) and then off again. By then I had only 15 minutes and I had to go to work. Turns out my CPU's fan was not blowing and it overheated and shut down. Oh well, maybe I saves myself from A BROWN RIBBON!

I'd venture to guess it was actually your best work to date and in such a small and haphazard pool of competition, it would have won you the blue. If you ever want to join those Ribbon Hogs in the DPL, you would have taken the side panel off and alternat between clicking the mouse and blowing on your CPU - kinda like CPR - click click blow, click click blow

Well, you could always put it in the freestudy :)

At least you didn't fry the whole computer!
(Still sucks, tho')

Believe me the side panel was off, and I had my blower out.

Sounds like the power supply is kaput.

I had a similar thing a while back and it was caused by dodgy capacitors on the motherboard. I'd never heard of "bulging capacitors" until then.
