You know what really sticks in my craw is commenters who put absolutely no effort into evaluating your image in a thoughtful and constructive manner and put the exact same ridiculously vague comment on all the images they supposedly comment on. Not calling anyone out as that would probably be against forum rules. I'd just as soon not receive any comments than get ones that have absolutely no meaning or thought behind them.

Do you mean inane comments such as Great Shot, Stunning, and other such insightful comments?

No. I like it when they say great shot. It's not helping to improve but it's at least heart felt I would think. No what I am talking about is gobbledygook. Stuff that's supposed to sound like it means something when it doesn't. for instance if I said "The colors and the composition of this pic determine it's redeeming characteristics" and then put that exact same comment on a bunch of the other photo's in the same challenge. It's an obvious copy and paste job. What the reasoning is behind it I have no idea. It's obviously not even meant to be helpful or to give me some insight into the viewers reaction to my pic. It really doesn't even tell me if they liked it or not. If your going to copy and paste this kind of crap comment then I would prefer no comment at all. Here I am trying to figure out what they meant and after reviewing the other entries comments I see that they meantnothing at all.

So question. Did you think it was gobbledygook when you received it? Or did you decide it was goobledygook when you saw the same comment on other entries after the challenge was over?

Personally, if I received a comment like that during the challenge it probably wouldn't irk me, as I wouldn't know that the commenter had copied and pasted the same comment on other entries.

Hahaha, I just found this by chance/coincidence. I wasn't looking for it.

Check out comments given, LOL.

I spotted that too, but honestly, if I got a comment like that, during voting at least, I would think it a valid comment. It's only when you see the other comments when the challenge is done, that it makes it meaningless.

There is even more of this going on than I thought. Wow that is very disheartening. Is there someway to disable pasting of comments into the comment box? This kind of stuff is just ridiculous. To answer a question asked above: Yes I thought it was a real comment. I was trying to figure out what they meant. It was only after reviewing other's comments that I realized what they had done.

I see now after looking at slippy's link again that it is all the same guy.

We are looking into this.

But please use the reporting feature rather than calling out a user in the forums to report abuse. Even if you are calling it out "vaguely", it's more direct to just report it.

I did not know this was a reportable offense and I certainly don't want to break any rules or anything. Thanks for the heads up.
