Online photocontest with $25,000 in prizes

So, I'm a selfish bastard. I entered a bunch of shots in this contest during its first run last year and made it through a couple of rounds several times, but never made it to the Final, and never posted about it here at DPC because I didn't need your competition.

The prize money is actually split so that a large amount, I think somethin like $10,000 goes to the winner, and a bunch of smaller amounts go to runners-up and public choice awards. You can look it up yourself if you're interested.

The contest is supposed to start up again soon, so check it out if you want.

Last Photographer Standing

I'd keep it a secret again, except there was a sickening amount of ass-kissing that went on at it. The entries are judged, and the judges know who the entrants are. The entrants typically post threads during the judging talking about how they made their shot, its meaning, and all kinds of ass-kissiness which just gives me the urge to barf. I'm not advertising for them. I'd like to see someone from DPC give them a run for their money. Put on your Chapstick!

There aren't many rules, except photos have to be taken within the contest time-period, so composite to your heart's content. I think

Art Roflmao could do really well, seriously.

Heh. There was such a low number of entrants, the odds were, and I suppose still will be, pretty good. A bunch of DPCers would've ruined that for me. Usually less than 100 entrants per qualifying round, and by design, always less than 50 entrants in the following rounds. :-)

Look at that, three hours and no replies. I know it's because everybody is bookmarking the contest, but wants this thread to sink out of sight ASAP so there isn't so much competition. You're all sneeeeekieeeeee!

I'll bump for ya. Made the cut a few times. Had the 2nd place "photo of the year" before that.

The prizes are super-good, and the thematic champs here should go kick some butt. That said, folks who don't hang out in the threads fare no worse. shatch, liquidair and a few others are true contenders over there.
