Hi all,
Need help! Am entering an art exhibition in my area, and the pieces have to be ready in two weeks! I have not done anything like this before and was wondering if those who have could answer a couple of questions or give any advice. The rules are: two entries per artist framed and ready to hang, two more may be entered matted and shrink wrapped. First of all, can someone tell me the proper way to "mat and shrink wrap"? For instance, would you tape the photo in some way to the back of the mat - and is shrink wrap a special type of plastic? Although this is open to all local artists who wish to participate, I would like my first outing to appear very professional (they will be shown for five consecutive weeks). Also, the items entered may be offered for sale which I plan to do - should I have them framed expensively, or inexpensively and charge less? This is excited and confusing at the same time! I think I have decided on my two photos to enter - if you would like to comment, please go to my portfolio and look at "small town NH" and "Colors of Monadnock". (both were taken locally). Am not happy with the crop on the mountain picture - I may redo it. I was planning on "small town" as a 5x7 framed to 8x10, and "Colors of Monadnock" as an 8x10 framed/matted to 11x14. Any comments suggestions on those as well would be most appreciated. (sorry for the pages long post!)
Thanks in advance for any help, BJ
