Not sure how to do this. How do I insert a thumbnail or image from my comp into a forum thread I just can't seem to get it done.

You have to first upload the image. If you upload the image to DPC you will see a number in the URL of the image (i.e. //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=654100). Take that number and you can link it in the thread
 -> [ thumb ]654100[ /thumb ] (but without the spaces between the [ and thumb |

Frankie, you can't simply link to a file on your computer. You need to upload it to your portfolio first, then link from there via the second last icon on top of the text box where you type something to a forum thread.
ETA: I knew someone would beat me to it, but hey :-)

If you don't want to upload to your DPC portfolio in order to save space, or you simply don't want to clutter your portfolio, you can always update any image to ImageShack. Once uploaded, you can copy one of the displayed links to use in a forum's message board--not just DPC forums, but most other forums as well.
