The printer driver is finding them so I suspect they are already there.

It doesn't hurt to look though.

Since Epson doesn't have an Ultra Premium Glossy profile available, I doubt that scrolling down will find it . I think he was seeing the Ultra Premium Luster profile and didn't notice.

I'm talking about the one that's selected in the printer driver being the one that should be selected in the print preview window. The one shown in the screen shots is not the same.

Yes, both shown are for premium, not ultra premium. Epson changed the names of their papers a while back but didn't change the names of some of their profiles and vice versa. Makes it very hard to try and match things up. If the paper is old the instruction sheet probably won't help but it might not hurt to look and see what profile it says to select.

Yeah, Epson has confused things lately with all the renaming. However, in this case, the Ultra Premium Glossy and the Premium Glossy are two different papers. It is usually the newer one that doesn't have a profile, thus the need to rely on the instruction pack.

I just went to the Epson Canada site and Ultra Premium Glossy isn't even available. Is it new?

This thread was the first I had heard of it. Check the specs out here.

It references a previous version of the paper (what switching the words does in the title is beyond me). Neither one appears on the Canadian site.

Maybe an email to epson is in order. (by the OP of course) ;o)

...from "Ultra Premium Glossy Photo Paper" to "Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy"! Same paper, different name. It's crap like that by Epson that drives me crazy.

"Ultra Premium" is a different paper from "Premium" glossy. For instance, it is thicker - 11.8 mil vs. 10 mil.

Rather than new, I believe it's about 3 years old (based on a forum thread I found at dpreview)

I use photoshop to edit the photos and a program called Qimage to set moniter profile and paper profiles this works everytime. Download from here www.ddisoftware.com/qimage for a free trial. One off payment for life membership and frequent updates.
You can also use Ilford Galerie papers as they provide the icc profiles ready for you to enter into Qimage. But remember to click on ICM and click on NO COLOUR adjustment within you printer properties as Qimage will set this.
I hope this may help, any problems let me know if you try it out.

I've used Qimage in the past and it is a very good layout/printing program.

Though, using Qimage will not make the Ultra Premium Glossy profile suddenly be available. ;oP
