I finally got my new lens today ... and it's raining like crazy. We have flood watches out and it's suppose to be about the same for the next 3 days. grrrr...

I'd like to get out and use this, but really don't want to take it out in a steady rain. In the mean time, I'm doing a few sections of the 40D manual at a time and playing with the new settings, etc. Will I remember most of them? Probably not.

I'm really looking forward to using this setup at church on Easter. We're having "Melinda Dolittle" of "American Idol" fame performing at all three services. Our lighting in the church is just terrible, so this camera / lens combo should help. I'm also borrowing a Canon 70-200 2.8 IS. Good thing we have three services. First service is my worship, second service for one lens and third service for the second lens!

This lens is refurbished. I haven't used it much yet, but it seems to be working fine.

Some of the best images are in bad weather.... How bout a brolly (either the real kind or the strobe kind... both work).
