sometimes i'd like to reply to a comment on a photo by email or private message rather than publicly. it would be nice if there were a button, right next to the [report post] and [quote] buttons that said [reply to user]. if they have a public email, it emails them. if they have a private email, it pm's them. it should also include the quoted text of their comment.
or has this been suggested before?

I'd rather have on-site messaging.
Log-in and there's a message box and an indicator showing a new message. |

I've suggested having a direct Send PM button to allow bypassing the person's profile page, but the suggestion has been bypassed so far.
For now, you'll have to click on the commentor's name and go to their profile page first. |

i hate forums w/ onsite messaging... if you're gone for any length of time, you can end up missing things. i check my email many times a day...
though having that a user selectable option would be nice.
i just don't like having to cut a comment, go to a profile page, click a link, then paste and quote before typing a reply... one button clicky-clicky would be soooo nice.

I don't think it would be good for everything, but as an and/or option to getting an email. |

It would be nice if this could also be tied into the critique club to make it easier to let people know that a critique has been done. Too many clicks to find my way back to the PM button for the photographer I just critiqued for. |

When the photo comes up just right-click on the photographers name and choose 'Open in new window'. Finish and post the critique, then select the window you opened earlier and the photographer's profile page is right there for you. :-) |
